Achel Brown is a top fermentation beer brewed at the Trappist Abbey of Sint-Benedictus in Achel. It is a nice brown beer with a full caramel taste, a slightly roasty touch and a dry aftertaste of mildly bitter hops. It has an alcohol content of 8.0%.
Achel, situated in the North-East of Belgium, close to the Dutch border is the smallest of all Belgian Trappist breweries. It has an annual production of 4,500 hectoliters and besides this beer, they also brew a blond one: Achel Blond.
