Chimay Blue 9° / 33cl
Chimay Blue (or Chimay Bleue in French) is probably the most famous Chimay beer. It is a unique red-brownish beer with a light creamy head and a slightly bitter, peppery taste. Its flavor continues to develop for a few years after bottling, which makes this an ideal beer to mature in your cellar. It has an alcohol content of 9.0%.
Serving temperature: 8-10°C
Chimay Blue is brewed at the world-renowned Trappist Abbey of Scourmont in the Wallonian village of Chimay. This beer is also available in a 75cl version, which is called Chimay Grande Reserve Blue, an ideal format if you want to keep this beer in the cellar for a few years.
Other beers from this Trappist abbey are Chimay Triple, a typical Belgian triple ale and Chimay Red, a dark beer. In 2012, a one-time special edition was brewed, called Chimay Speciale Cent Cinquante.
