Rodenbach is a typical Flemish red ale, sometimes also referred to as Belgian sour ale. It is a mixed fermentation beer; it is a blend of beer that has matured for almost two years (one quarter) with much younger beer which has matured for 4-6 months (three quarters). This Rodenbach beer has a light red color and a white head. It has a typical sour flavor which makes it very refreshing and it has an alcohol content of 5.2%.

Rodenbach Brewery was the founding father of this particular beer style when they made their first brew in 1821. Nowadays several other breweries in the same region brew a similar beer.
